Sounds Like Love- Spanish movie. I loved the energy of it- the growth and learning and heartache but also lessons and optimism and hope.

Dinner For Four- Italian movie. I liked it. Questioning whether soulmates exist and whether there is only one person meant for us.

This Shift- Wayne Dyer- part of the Hay House World Summit 2017. Awesome, awesome, awesome movie! So inspiring. It was probably my favorite part of the summit.  Fiction embedded in lessons an the whole movie was put together in a very clever way, with a couple of big time actors in there too.

The Fault in Our Stars- beautiful story of young love, health, healing, death, freedom, appreciation of life. A young girl and young guy meet at a cancer support group. They fall in love and help each other enjoy the life they have left, and to appreciate each moment and achieve some of their dreams. Because life is short, especially for them, they don't take any moments for granted.

The Science of Miracles- Gregg Braden- part of the Hay House World Summit 2017 Videos/Movies

The Abundance Code- by Julie Anne Cairns and Enzo Tedeschi - from the Hayhouse World Summit Videos- 2017- Very interesting video. I got a lot out of it.  I should see it again to remind myself of the details of it, and also see about the book version. The book is by Julie Anne Cairns

April 2013:

Trance- Great movie but I found it really disturbing.  It was made to feel so believable that it was hard not to leave the theatre without some of the images haunting me after.  A guy gets hypnotized into forgetting about where he hides this very valuable and sought after piece of artwork- a painting.  And it's the story of how he got so possessive over a woman he loved, that he was abusive and crazy about his actions.  Ironically, she is also the one who hypnotizes him, for her own safety and to get him to forget his obsession over her. Crazy movie. But very well done. I just wouldn't want to ever see it again.

May 2013:

Just Wright- movie with Queen Latifah. So funny, cute, and romantic.  Queen Latifah helps heal a basketball player after an injury. She believes in him more than he does himself, and it's a story of how they fall in love and what it means to really stand by someone.

Mud- amazing movie, and cinematography.

Before Midnight- Ethan Hawk - sequel to Before Sunset

August 2013

Definitely, Maybe - I love this movie! It's the second time I've seen it, and it's just so adorable. Little girl and her father.  He tells her the story of his love life- many of the previous relationships he's had. She wants to make sure her mother is her real mother (as her mother and father have split up), but she also wants her father to be happy and find someone.  So cute! So clever the way the story is told by the girl asking her father questions and he tells the

Get Over It- cute movie about a teenage guy who gets dumped by his girlfriend.  He is still obsessed with her and tries to join the school musical to be in the show with her and win her back.  But instead, he falls for the girl who helps him learn his lines- the little sister of his friend.  A movie about real love, youth, knowing yourself, and self-growth.  Also about theatre and music, and going with what you feel is right, even if it doesn't fit the crazy choreographer's rules.  Haha!

Elysium- saw this at the drive in theater.  Uggh! It was heart wrenching with images in it that I really could have done without- flesh being ripped open, friends dying, arms being broken... and it made me feel sick in parts. I know, I know, it's just a movie. But any of you who know me know that when I get really sucked into a movie or a book, I get very sensitive over the content and emotions  And I guess that it's a sign of a well made movie at least- for the work to be able to pull me into the movie enough to believe in it and feel it.  And Matt Damon was amazing in it.  And the idea of it- healing people from any and all ailments and sicknesses or diseases, just by popping themselves into a machine for a few minutes- was amazing.  But yeah, it was a little too heavy for me at the time.  Definitely rarely put a smile on my face.

Grandparents 2- second movie in the drive in theater double feature.  I thought it was pretty stupid but lightened the heaviness of the first movie.

February 2012The Vow -

A Better Life -

Leaving Mandela Park -

The Importance of Being Ernest - By Oscar Wild.  I saw it with Wendy in Vancouver - live theatre show-and it is still my favourite play of all time. Great actors in this show.  The spitting of pieces of the cucumber sandwiches as the men spoke was hilarious.

The Lucky One-

April 2012

The Pitman Painters- a live theatre show I saw in Seattle. It's about the power of art to transform people and minds, to bring people together, and also to help people find who they are or what they are truly made of.

July 2012

Take This Waltz- a woman who is "happily" or complacent with her marriage meets a man on a airplane who she eventually thinks she has "fallen in love" with.  It turns out that he is her new neighbour.  She considers having an affair with him, but doesn't want to hurt her husband. So she ends up telling her husband, and then going off to live and have sex with the other man! lol!  When she first meets the "other" man, she tells him how she is afraid of being in the middle of things, like not choosing here or there. Just stuck somewhere in the middle, not knowing which way would be the right one for her, so she's scared of choosing the wrong one. But she's also "afraid of being afraid", which gets her into more anxiety and she never feels satisfied.  This movie seemed to be about that middle stage- not being happy where you are. And it also brings up the idea of how comfortable is too comfortable? Is that really being happy?  And if you want more, can you want too much to the point that you will never find anything, or anyone, to be enough? Interesting movie.

To Rome With Love- a Woody Allen Film. I had high hopes for it because the last Woody Allen film I saw- Midnight in Paris- was amazing. But this one... was exciting because it was in Rome and it had its comic moments.  But it was pretty dry and the storyline seemed very wishy washy. Not enough of a climax or of anything really "happening" in the plot.

September 2012

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel- Awesome movie!!! Funny, witty, deep, great actors (one of the main ones is the guy from Slumdog Milliionair).  A few older people who are health and other problems, decide to go out to what they think is a beautiful hotel out in India.  The pictures look amazing and it's all paid for for their stay.  None of them know each other before they get there. But what was supposed to be a luxurious place to get away is actually a space with empty rooms that haven't been occupied in ages. The phones don't work, the guy who runs it is a young son with big dreams but seems a little all over the place.  But the arrival of all the guests to the hotel brings about a lot of change in everyone's lives, including the hotel's.  It's a great story, very well put together, and I enjoyed it all the way through.

November 2012

Skyfall- James Bond Movie- the filming was great- action-packed, but lacked depth and was pretty predictable.

December 2012

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?- older movie- from the 60's?  Amazing movie.  Black man falls in love with a white woman. The girl as no doubt she is to be with him. Their families are not happy with it at all. But in the end, the families, especially the girl's father, comes around. And it's such a touching, inspiring movie.  I loved it!

The Karate Kid- the new one with Jaden Smith as the kid and I think Will and Jada Smith are the producers?  Anyway, great movie. This is the second time I saw that scene with the jacket- the kid putting it on and off and getting frustrated.  And the lessons he learned from it. Another great movie.

The Peaceful Warrior- I saw it a few years back.  This is my second time watching it.  I forgot that it is actually pretty funny as well as so profound an inspiring.  Reminds me of the Karate Kid I just watched.  Same concept- a young kid- needs guidance and a coach.  Learns to look within and focus on his own answers.

2011

Cute movie. Different. Not expected. Light but good story. A little romance, a little inspiration, a little quirky. -March 13th- DVD

Horrible Bosses- Jennifer Aniston as the crazy dentist, sexually harrassing her colleague.  Funny, but crazy funny.  -July, 2011- in theatre

Friends With Benefits- Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis (from That Seventy's Show).  Great chemistry between them as actors. Cute, funny.  I loved it! - August 2011- In theatre

Crazy, Stupid Love- Steve Carrell (from The Office), and Ryan Gosling.  Funny, good concept.  Entertaining.  About love, betrayal, passion, what women really want. True Love versus what people think love is. - August 2011- in theatre

The Help- Amazing movie about civil rights. A young white woman ends up wanting to write a book from the point of view of the house maids who are black, to help them tell their stories. What a gripping movie. So inspiring, heartfelt, and moving.- September 2011- in theater

The Muppets- November 2011- in theater

Then She Found Me- December 2011- on DVD

Shawshank Redemption- December 2011- on DVD

Sidwalks of New York- December 2011- on DVD

***Midnight in Paris- Dember 2011- in Theater- in Seattle. AWESOME MOVIE! probably one of the best I've ever seen!

What Color Is Love?- December 2011- on TV- just saw the ending, but would love to see the rest. Interracial couple fighting over custody of their half black, half white child. Father's lawyer argues that the son should be with the father because they both "look alike" (both black).
